PRACTICE AREAS
BUSINESS LITIGATION
By deeply understanding our client’s intellectual property, we have secured millions of dollars in judgments and settlements on behalf of inventors, creatives, and technology companies.
At AE&J, our lawyers have decades of experience representing intellectual property owners in protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights—patents, copyrights, and trademarks. We have litigated and tried major intellectual property cases across the country and internationally.
Drawing on a network of technical experts, and our own technology backgrounds, the lawyers at AE&J deeply understand the technology in a way that few firms can. By understanding the technology at the heart of an intellectual property dispute, we develop strategies focused on what matters and avoid the distractions created by infringers.
EMPLOYMENT
LITIGATION
AE&J represents employees in high-profile and high-stakes employment cases, ranging from sexual harassment to whistleblower retaliation. We have gone up against major corporations and government agencies across the state on behalf of employees who have been wrongfully fired, subjected to discrimination and harassment in the workplace, and denied fair wages. Our whistleblower cases have involved technology companies, military contractors, and the missile defense system.
We are uniquely equipped to handle extremely sensitive employment matters, including those involving confidential business data, privileged material, and classified government information. Our clients have included high-level government employees, company CEOs, technology entrepreneurs, and high-level investment professionals.

INSURANCE
AE&J has recovered multiple millions of dollars for policyholders from insurance companies wrongfully denying coverage and engaging in bad faith.
Our lawyers regularly represent business owners and individuals to recover insurance benefits that are wrongfully denied. We have represented clients on coverage and bad faith disputes involving residential and commercial real estate, manufacturing, large construction projects, and financial investments.
AE&J also advises clients on coverage issues, determining how to best trigger and maximize both first-party and third-party coverage in potential and ongoing cases.
UNFAIR COMPETITION / TRADE SECRETS
AE&J vigorously litigates both business-against-business and consumer class action cases on behalf of clients harmed by unfair competition and fraudulent business practices. Our cases have ranged from fighting on behalf of startup companies being smothered by overzealous competitors to representing consumers challenging illegal trade practices.
We have been brought on to litigate potential case-ending (and company-ending) restraining orders and injunctions.
PROFESSIONAL LIABILITTY
AE&J has taken on major law firms, physicians, and investment managers on claims involving tens of millions of dollars in damages relating to professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duties, and conflicts of interest. AG also defends lawyers in cases involving malicious prosecution and other “parasitic” tort claims based on their representation of clients.
Some of our largest cases involve claims against professionals for violating their professional duties to clients. These include mishandling client funds and investments, negligent advice, mismanaging litigation, and egregious cases of overbilling. Our adversaries have ranged from major, AMLAW 100 law firms, to large medical groups, to investment managers.
